History of ETEI, Fakirpur

After independence there was need of efficient teachers in India for develop suitable citizen to hold the responsibility. To mitigate the needs, Government of India founded this institution and named it ET School in sixties of the last century. Sole intention of this school was to prepare suitable teachers for primary education. In 1972 this school was renamed as S. T. School. It took care of the learners of this state Odisha to be effective and efficient in the field of elementary education. It is one of the well-known teacher training institution in Odisha that is producing elementary teachers who are working all over the country. It is later renamed as Govt. Elementary Teacher Education Institution. It is situated in Village Fakirpur in the bank of river Baitarani of Anandapur block of Keonjhar district which is two km away from the Subcollecter Office Anandapur. It has nearabout four Acres of land area. It has a well-developed Multipurpose hall along with a playground, two sixty seated hostel both for boys and girls trainees, well equipped classroom building and a beautiful garden. It is affiliated by Board of Secondary Education Odisha Cuttack and has been working for academic interest of the society.
